Our Annual "Navigating the Modern & Contemporary Art Markets" course, tailored for members of the Association Internationale des Évaluateurs d'Art (AIEA), provides essential insights and strategies for excelling in today's dynamic art landscape. This specialized program delves into the unique characteristics of modern and contemporary art, encompassing movements from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism through Pop Art, Conceptual Art, and the diverse practices of the 21st century. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key factors influencing valuation in these markets, including the role of artist reputation, critical reception, exhibition history, provenance, condition, and current collecting trends. The course also examines the impact of art fairs, online platforms, and evolving auction dynamics on pricing and market analysis, equipping appraisers with the tools to navigate this often volatile and rapidly changing sector.
AIEA members will develop practical skills in researching and appraising modern and contemporary artworks across various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and new media.
